The Ethelston and Bestic Trust is an independent charity dedicated to making provision for Uplyme Primary School and promoting education and wellbeing in the ecclesiastical parish of Uplyme.

Founded in 1854 the trust supports Mrs Ethelston's CE Primary Academy in Uplyme through the provision and maintenance of their buildings.

Our School

Named after Mrs Anne Ethelston, the wife of the Reverend Charles Wicksted Ethelston the school opened in 1873 and remains a Church of England School.

Today it continues to provide education under the guidance of the Acorn Academy Trust working to enable children to grow creatively and to achieve their best in a happy and secure environment.

Our New School

We are delighted to be spearheading the construction of an innovative, carbon neutral new school building within Uplyme designed to support education for future generations.
