Our School

Mrs Ethelston’s Church of England Primary Academy is situated
in the
rural village of Uplyme, which adjoins Lyme Regis.

Flourishing Children

Mrs Ethelston's is at the heart of the community, working to enable children to grow creatively and to achieve their best in a happy and secure environment, and supported by the Bestic Trust.

Christian Vision

Founded by Reverend Ethelston, the school remains one of 133 Church of England schools in the Exeter Diocese, continuing to develop and sustain a Christian vision of education. With close and happy links with St Peter and St Pauls Church it is very much a community school and involved in village and church life.

Academy Status

Part of the Acorn Multi Academy Trust we work together to provide high quality education and deliver the best possible outcomes for young people, enabling every child to reach his or her potential, regardless of background.

Mrs Ethelston's is considered to be among the top 250 primary schools in the UK, it has continued to flourish since becoming a founding member of the Acorn Multi Academy Trust and we strongly support the benefits of curricular collaboration, operational efficiency, staff development and diversification of the children's experience that have come about since it became an academy. These benefits have been gained without compromise to the school or its relationship to its community.
