New School Garden Design
On Saturday 10th July 2021 the Uplyme & Lyme Regis Horticultural Society held their annual show, and the new school field was used for parking visitors to the event. The Bestic Trust put on a display about the new school with particular emphasis on the creation of the the garden. Jenny Short, who designed the scheme gave an inspirational talk about the design that has been developed with both sustainability and learning in mind.

This document is a formal comparison of the school’s internal accommodation to the current design standards that would be used to set the criteria for the building of a new school. We knew that school is stressed in terms of space with almost 200 children attending, but this report clearly sets out just how expansion over time has impacted on the amenity being offered to children and staff.
